Agro Drones: Business from Scratch. How Much You Can Earn and Where to Start

Offline Presentations

"I didn’t know what pH was. I couldn’t handle a drone in the wind. But I learned. And now I’m passing it on."

Mykola Chernyak, founder of AGRONIX, shares a concrete and honest scenario: how to enter the agro drone business, even without technical experience. This presentation isn’t about abstractions — it’s about how to start earning this very season.

We frequently speak at agricultural events and universities across Ukraine. Each lecture revolves around agro drones, application techniques, AGRONIX’s experience, economics, safety, and training. But every session has its own approach, focus, and value.
Below is a brief summary of what you will learn from this presentation. Enjoy watching!

How to Start Without a Technical Background?

Most of Mykola Chernyak’s students aren’t IT specialists, engineers, or even agronomists. Yet after just three days, they’re in the field as agro drone operators.

AGRONIX Training Program:
Work with the drone and controller
Preparation of the working solution
Route planning
Error analysis that can “burn” a field

"It’s like a smartphone — difficult at first, then intuitive. The key is logic and hands-on practice."

How Much Does a Pilot Actually Earn?

Chernyak gives a straightforward calculation:
Profit-generating application rate — 200–350 UAH/ha
One crew (drone + 2 people) processes 200–250 ha per day
Base scenario: 200 ha × 300 UAH = 60,000 UAH/day
After expenses (fuel, depreciation, wages, chemicals): 20–25 thousand UAH in net profit per day

"Even in a short 30-day season — that’s up to half a million in net profit."

What Does the Business Consist Of?

To get started, you need a structure:
Drone kit: drone, generator, batteries, controller, mixing unit
3-day training: everything needed — in the AGRONIX workbook
A growing market: with increasing limits on conventional machinery, drones are the "only window" in weather windows

"It’s still not too late. But this market is growing fast. Getting in means making money."

What Does Success Depend On?

1. Team
"A pilot isn’t just someone who flies. It’s someone who knows what to do when something goes wrong."

2. Equipment
Properly assembled kit
Prepared batteries
Correct refueling

3. Farmer Trust
"Not burning" the field is more important than anything
Communication = orders

"Farmers don’t need the lowest price. They need a reliable partner. And we became that because we’ve already made all the mistakes."

What Makes This Talk Unique?

Financial calculation with no fluff
Real launch structure
Up-to-date market figures
Motivation for those who think they “can’t handle it”

Summary: Yes, It’s Real

"All you need is the desire to learn, a few days of your time, and belief in yourself."

This story isn’t glamorous. It’s a growing market, a demand that already exceeds supply, and a technology you can master in 3 days.

Agro drones aren’t just machines. They’re a chance to enter agriculture through a new door. And right now — that door is open.
