Spring Fertilization of Winter Crops: Traditional Methods and Innovative Solutions with Agrodrones
Spring fertilization of winter crops is a crucial stage in the cultivation technology, as it ensures the rapid recovery of vegetation, active growth, and yield formation. After winter, winter crops often experience a nitrogen deficiency—a key element necessary for active tillering, shoot formation, and productive stem development. Applying nitrogen fertilizers during this period stimulates tillering, promotes the formation of productive shoots, and establishes a high yield potential. At the same time, improper application or excessive doses of nitrogen can lead to negative consequences, including lodging of crops.

How Can a Ukrainian Farmer Reach the Global Top in Soybean Yield?
Recently, information surfaced online stating that a young farmer from the USA set a new world record for soybean yield, reaching 14.6 t/ha (206 bushels). This is an outstanding yield, especially considering the reality in which Ukrainian producers can only dream of a stable soybean harvest of 3.0 t/ha. The key question is: "How was such a high soybean yield of 14.6 t/ha achieved?" The answer is simple. According to Alex Harrell, the record-breaking farmer: "There are no secrets—just the application of innovative technological approaches, careful planning, timely execution of farming operations, and irrigation."

Desiccation of corn with DJI AGRAS series drones
An essential practice in corn cultivation is crop desiccation, which, due to resource efficiency and the tall stature of plants, is best performed using DJI AGRAS series agro-drones. The starting point for corn desiccation is typically the onset of physiological maturity, marked by the formation of the "black layer" on the kernel. The development of the black layer depends on the FAO rating of hybrids and can occur within a moisture range of 36% to 28%. A fully formed black layer indicates physiological maturity and the complete detachment of the seed from the cob. Corn desiccation is generally recommended when grain moisture is between 35-40%, provided that vegetative green leaves are still present.
