Fertilizer Application on Wheat and Barley with DJI Agras T50 Drones

Application

Location: Central Ukraine
Crops: Winter wheat, spring barley
Product: Ammonium sulfate, urea
Application rate: 100 kg/ha
Equipment: DJI Agras T50 + spreading tank

Task

We received a request: to apply nitrogen fertilizers on cereals despite challenging weather conditions — field access roads were over-moist, and traditional machinery couldn't enter. The client has been working with agro drones for three years already and requested us to quickly handle the task using AGRAS T50 drones.

How the Work Was Carried Out

🔹 Started with wheat — ammonium sulfate was applied. Application rate: 100 kg/ha, area: over 25 hectares.
🔹 Then moved to the barley field, where urea was used. Conditions were not ideal: weak agro background, windy weather. But even under such conditions, the T50 performed perfectly.

Total work area — about 50 hectares.
Execution time — less than 5 hours, including loading and relocation.

Impressions and Conclusions

Once again, our team was convinced that:

🔹 The DJI Agras T50 allows application rates of up to 200 kg/ha without damaging granules, including crystalline forms;
🔹 Coverage uniformity is high, with no drift or missed spots;

🔹 The productivity of the T50 is 2.5–3 times higher than that of the T30 — this is crucial for farmers who need to operate within short "weather windows";
🔹 We have clear productivity standards and drone load calculations, making it easy to scale the service.

This field operation proved once again: drones are not the future — they are the present, especially when there is a need to work quickly, precisely, and without unnecessary costs.
